This lesson we watched a mini movie about camera angles and editing. My favourite technique is how you can focus on someone and blur the background and then blur the person and focus on the background. (i wish the school camera’s could do that)

it was a good lesson because i learnt a lot and this will help me lots in how i am going to present my movie. i also bet this will be in our exams so note to self:- study this!!

well this lesson was spossed to be a showback lesson but we didnt showback at all.. we started the lesson by talking bout how people went in the state shakespeare festival.

we played the u, me, yes u game and it was good for some people that got into it but was a strugglr for others.. especially to find focus was hard.

we also got put into our groups.. i am wiv ashleigh..bec..and..ana… which i must say is…. AWESOME coz ive never been in a group with bec and i want to prove that we can work well together..

i have found out today that even though my character is rather “crazy” she has the more laid back side to her too. i think in clas the other day i may have toned up my character a little too much into something that she is not.. she is just normal in an outthere way..

we also have a sheet that we are to read for homework so id better hop to it

welll.. now that i have finished with melodrama our class has moved onto our individual pieces (monolouges). i have missed the first two lessons so some people are a few steps ahead but thats ok.. i got my pink slip. i was a lil gob-smacked at how much work i have to do..

our mission: to find a costume for our character.. mission accomplished.. with ease i must add. we then had to put our costume on and look at ourselves in the mirror in a stance our character would be.. i changed my stance as miss ghest asked some questions on how we were standing..

we then had to walk around the classroom and be our character… i find it easier to act with a costume (and easier to sing in costume too) i guess it makes me feel like there is something that i can hide behind.. and show the character through me..

the clothes my character wears are a bit strange and out there which is exactly the kind of character mine is.. my character is fee spirited and doesn’t care what people think of her.

good lesson..

In the second half we went outside to do some work on improvisation. we timed it by what it will be like at the eisteddfod. eventually more and more people came until there got too many people for a scene. but now i feel more confident with zac and daniel with improvisation and know that they will save me. we came up with some great ideas too.

It was a very good practise and after me and dan left zac stayed behind to look for costumes and found some really good ones (go zac =)

part 1 = we are praising the spirits and ancestors. dancing and making noise.

part 2 = dan and zac are planning their attack on amanda.. zac does an aside.

part 3 = dan and zac come in intending to shoot amanda but shoot me. they run off in shock horror that they killed me

part 4 = i turn into a spirit. manda and jenna are amazed….

and so on… the rest is in ma book

well yer great lesson and untill next time thats the way the cookie crumbles. 

then we were told to play build for our peice. i quickly discussed with the group about the dilema with the geisha theme and zac excitedly proclaimed that he wanted to do cowboys and indians. we agreed and went to it (me n zac also decided that we would swap positions hence now i am the hero). i feel a great bond/connection between zac and dan which is great. i started to play build okay but the girls dont really get into the spirit of it and gradually comes down to them hardly participating at all……. but from what i did i was happy.

so untill next time thats the way the cookie crumbles… 

i watched the start of memoirs of the geisha. a geisha is an artist. they entertain rich business men as moving art (twirling fans, etc). they live in little houses in geisha villages where they buy girls to either train to be a geisha or to have as their slaves. the business men give the geishas lots of money to be entertained and sometimes to sleep with. the money was used to buy elaborate clothing and make-up. the geishas lived lives where everything was done for them- the slaves even opened and closed doors for them.

after watching this film and learning what a true geisha is i am a little unsure whether this is really the right topic for the group to be doing. i will discuss this with them at school.

-who am i- my caharacter is the villan. i had a thought of samuri in my head. i am wise, quick, sharp, witty and bossy

-what time is it- perhaps late 19th century or early 20th century. spring. day time, possibly some in night.

-what surrounds me- a bamboo forest outside the little geisha village with a secret lair in mount fujii.

-what are my relationships- daniel (my assistant) is scared of me because i can hurt him. i dont like zac (hero) and want to get revenge..

-as a leader i can work on- i could help encourage people to let more into their comfort zones.
